Breaking through the blogger’s block

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately – there’s been various stuff going on that has cluttered up my mind and made me struggle to work out what I want to write and what, when I’ve written it, I can post on here. We are back in the house – it is probably 95% . . . → Read More: Breaking through the blogger’s block

The beginning of the end?

It is funny what things get to – engage brain, engage logic and yet still it is the little things that can undermine hard fought invulnerability.

Today I am starting to sort through our baby clothes, taking bags down from the attic and getting ready to send a package of small, loved things . . . → Read More: The beginning of the end?

The Friday Rant Club

How come evolution hasn’t kicked in sorted out the fact that no matter how you look at it, the way we humans reproduce is just overly complicated.  Surely sometime around the time we started to walk upright some small changes could have been made to how we reproduce?

Bittersweet

tear-drop

Life can be an absolute beast when it thinks about it.

Tonight I am mostly rejoicing in the news that my sister is pregnant, that I’m going to be an aunt, that after all the trying she is going to be a mother, that they are going to be a family.  And I’m . . . → Read More: Bittersweet

Moving on…

What I hadn’t realised about miscarriage is that there isn’t a button that you click and suddenly everything is erased.

Once you’ve gone through the physical process you then have to deal with the practical side.

You have to cancel the appointments you had made, tell the few people you had confided . . . → Read More: Moving on…

Moving on

The hospital rang yesterday and the levels of pregnancy hormones are dropping.  Its good news – there’s no fear of an ectopic pregnancy.

I’m also feeling more normal, or at least not swirling around in a maelstrom of hormones, and finding that whilst there are still raw emotional patches, I do feel better.
