I like lists – I make no secret of the fact that I write a fair amount of lists
Part of my plan to try and head off disappearing under my duvet for the next few weeks has been to write A Proper List – if you have a list of things to tick off then you feel as if you are making some progres at least
I was pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of lists of Things We Need To Do written at the start of the summer that we’d ticked off rather a lot – nice feeling that, especially if you have been thinking that actually you hadn’t achieved much recently
My little lists say otherwise – they say that we are making progress and that things are coming together
Now to write a whole new set to take me from here until the end of the year and to try and use them to think my way through a few things that are preying on my mind and to make sure I do the things I need to each day – drink water, exercise, try and beat my mother in law at words with friends – tick tick tick, a sort of linear version of putting one foot infront of the other
First off the pros and cons of my job and then a list of things we need to take when we go away at the weekend
See – lists, the solution to many things

Oh, I love lists. I have them everywhere for different things. As one who used to teach Time Management and Organisation-y stuff when it was all the rage in the corporate world, the danger is that you write such long lists that they become over-whelming and paralyzing. Bite-size chunks is the key!
Lots of little lists for different things in a book of lists is the way to go!
I sometimes write a list of all the lists I want to write
Now that is super-listing!
