Weekend knitting project – monster!

Oh no, I’m not frantically crafting away to distract myself from the fact my house is still a building site and it’s only 3 weeks until Christmas.  Oh no.

Ok possibly, but a side effect of all of that is that I’m ridiculously pleased that I have managed to master the magic loop – tubes are now my friend and I don’t have to fret about double pointed needles and not having enough hands!

The magic loop is the key to this knitted monster – once you get that this doesn’t take long at all.

Unfortunately my self striping wool turned out rather more argle than aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggh but since this was heading off to greet a newborn baby perhaps it was better that he wasn’t to scary.

The pattern is by the lovely Rebecca at Dangercrafts and I’ve already bought some more of her pattterns.  They are easy to follow and the monsters are just delightful.

This also doesn’t take terribly long, well apart from wrestling with the safety eyes which I just don’t seem to have the knack of, and dithering over what was the right mouth so he didn’t turn out to too scary.

This monster is off to a new home – I’m hoping that he enjoys it there.
