One day down….

So despite a restless Sunday night and the usual last minute faffing, I managed to get myself, all the bits of paper I needed to take and get on the train at the right time heading in the right direction!

I may have been a bit super organised and worked out outfits for the entire week to give me one less thing to worry about in the morning.  Say what you will, but I reckon that if you feel that you look good it gives you a definite boost.  Ok I may be shallow but I at least think that knowing I had on trousers that made my bum look smaller helped with walking in this morning.

Its actually been a bit of a phoney start day – instead of being able to leap in, I’ve spent all day sat in a training room being indoctrinated (sorry inducted) into the Bean Counter Inc way of doing things.  And what’s more I have to do even more tomorrow…

I haven’t sat still for that long in ages and believe me, sitting doing very little is quite hard work… weirdly.

The good news is that I’ve already had a positive report back on New Nanny from my network of spies (hurray!) and that whilst I was away it began to feel like I might be able to do this thing possibly.

The train back was a bit different though.  Long enough to sit and think and to realise how much I missed the two girls.  Long enough to realise how tired I was.  Long enough to question whether I’ve done the right thing..

And then I got home in time for a cuddle with Muddling Minor who was incredibly pleased to see me.  Oh and then the bigger one woke up and wanted a piece of the action and some cuddles too.  Which was lovely in a bittersweet way.

So, one day down.  I’m shattered.  I’ve a long list of things I need to find out or do and nobody has taken my bank account details yet to sort out paying me!

Thank you for all your good luck wishes.  Its really great to know that there are people out there wishing me well.  And that I have the self control to not have spent my induction day on Twitter (which may have more to do with the quality of mobile reception at the training suite than my actual, ahem, self control!)

Onwards and upwards.  Tomorrow is another day.

    >I bow to the lady with a week of clothes planned … Genius!

    >Oh well done on day one my lovely. I quite agree with the clothes thing. For my return to work I walked into a posh clothes shop, handed over my card and uttered the immortal words "Dress Me". I now have a new work wardrobe that can cope with my post babynumber 3 butt & breasts AND makes me feel like a professional grown up. I applaud your wardrobe planning. As for the niggles and worries, try not to dwell yet it's still early days.

    >So pleased you had a wedgie-free day….if you can make it to Friday without one, I'd consider yourself inducted.

I'm loving the idea of your army of spies – nanny-cam in action. Top work.

    >Ah, yes, so this is the fate that awaits me? I can't believe that I'll have to start shaving every day again!! Returning to work is a scary prospect… but I'm going to follow your lead and get super organised! 🙂
