>A caricature possibly but Sex & the City reminds me of when I was fabulous too

>Yes, it may not be the cutting edge, fashion savvy hour of wonderfulness that it was 10 years ago but I am still really looking forward to seeing the next Sex and the City film.

A film should be escapism and this for me is escapism.  Yes it no longer does all the things it did those years ago, but neither do I and merely watching it reminds me of the good old days.

It reminds me of the days when I was young and living life to the full – of nights in the pub, lovely lunches, cute outfits for work and play and not having to worry about lines or sleep or leaving the house with sick on my shoulder.

It reminds me of the good times with my girl friends and to pick up the phone to them, irrespective of how far our lives have diverged over recent years.

It reminds me of dating Mr Muddling and the fun we had.  And that we need to get back that sparkle.

But most of all it reminds me of the days when I was a size 10, dressed fabulously and the nights we would walk back from the station and not make it past our local cocktail bar – hours with friends sat gossiping and laughing.

It was, just simply, fabulous!

So I shall be there, cocktail in hand, watching at the end of next month.  Admiring the shoes and reminding myself that there was a time when I had fabulous shoes and then I had two babies and my feet got too big for them.

Still, a girl can dream – and those blue Manolos are the stuff of dreams.

    >We are still fabulous !!

Just a different kind of fabulous.

A stained and knackered type of fabulous.

I'm going to be watching it too. Just as soon as it come to SKY Italia, cos I'll fall asleep in the cinema, an instant reaction to the dark these days.

    >I'm not sure I ever had that life!? Two kids seems to give me the perfect excuse to look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. Although I do agree about remembering when it was fun and exciting to be with my boy 🙂

  • Livi

    >I am SOOOOOO excited!

  • Muddling Along Mummy

    >Sarah – you're right, we ARE still fabulous! Just different ways

Dotterel – hahaha you're fabulous too, in your own way

Scribbling Mum – aw I'm sure you did, anyway, isn't casual chic what its all about these days?

Livi – me too, in fact I hate to say that I've been asked to see it 48 hours before it releases properly in the UK and I almost bounced when I wrote back to say yes please!

    >You've just made me realise just how much my life has changed since Sex and the City started all those years ago. Still the changes have all be fantastic.

And thanks for posting that trailer. I've only seen the short trailer so far and this one actually made me squeal out loud with excitement!

    >ah! those halcyon days of life before kids – that was 28 years ago for me! I'm looking forward to seeing it too, if only to make me feel a teensy bit jealous of the unbridled freedom….just for a moment..

    >Oh i cannot wait , loved it then and love the show now.

Reminds me of snuggling up under the covers normally tired and possibly hung over watching the latest episode. Good times lol
