>I feel a need, a need for speed!

This week has been so different from the one before.

Yesterday afternoon I was driving Porsches around a track at Silverstone (sadly not The Track which is a frenetic building sitec at the moment).

I have always wanted to drive a fast car fast but been a little scared to drive Mr’s without a but of tutition. And yesterday I got that – a couple of hours in four different cars driving around a track, doing slides and dealing with skids and generally having a lot of fun. Admittedly my first lap was more Careful Lady Driver than The Stig but once my instructor had got me over my nerves I was a lot less sedate!

And the great thing was that I was better at dealing with skids than Mr! Which means he has no excuse for me not driving his nice car now!

    >I've always said (since spending a week at the Police Driving School in Crewe) that women are better drivers – given half the chance (and confidence) – than men. But get a bloke to admit it, and you'll see airborne porkers! Oh, hang on a minute…

    >I just want to go slightly faster than a drunken snail drifting sideways trying to stay upright, which is my current speed of transport anywhere.

Oh for a good brisk walking pace (let alone anything with wheels on it!)

    >I would be scared beyond words. Sounds like a great stress buster though and I bet Mr is gutted you were better than him!

    >My sister would have been in her element, as would my husband. I would have kept to the speed limit though.

    >You haven't lived until you have driven a Renault 5. Not that i'm jealous or anything…

    >Oooh I am so jealous! I would love to do that. Must add it to wish list for future gifts from the Alpha Male. One day I will write a post on his bad present buying history and you will understand why a "wish list" is essential in this house!

    >I did that at Thruxton, it was fab! Although the instructor did have to remind me that there was no 70mph speed limit on the track!

    >Big M sold the Porsche when little L was 8 months old. I really wanted to make it work! But I guess he was just tired of being cramped into the car like a sardine.

    >I would love to do that .. When I first got my Porsche I kept stalling the bloody thing LOL I bet it was fabulous to be taught how to handle speed in a safe environment x thanks for your comments xxx
