>Modern proverbs – there does come a point when you are ready to have the baby

>When people say you need to be REALLY fed up for the baby to come; they don’t mean a bit bored, a bit grumpy, a bit uncomfortable.

Oh no, what they mean is that you need to have The Rage (as in total, irrational red mist over the smallest things – yes the advertising screens in the Post Office are irritating but they are not worth wanting to rip down and jump on), The Tears (as in the ability to cry over everything and anything but mostly over why the world is so mean as to do these things that lead to The Rage), to be truly uncomfortable all of the time (in a oh I need a pee every 30 seconds, and I can’t eat because I have a foot in my stomach, and a shoulder tucked somewhere painful near an ovary) AND be prepared to have someone rummage in your bits to try and ‘nudge things along’.

It also helps if you’re weighing up whether to do your own c-section with a blunt spoon or a vasectomy on your other half…

A proverb (from the Latin proverbium), also called a byword or nayword, is a simple and concrete saying popularly known and repeated which expresses a truth, based on common sense or the practical experience of humanity.
