>Working women are going to save the world !

>I really enjoyed this article from the Times which sagely says that working women will save the world.

This isn’t a reprise Harriet Harman’s silly idea that a Lehman Sisters wouldn’t have failed but more that as women get a bigger and bigger footprint in the world of work we push forward our own different approach, which is inherently more risk averse than that of our male colleagues, but we also influence wider social consumer trends.
Wouldn’t it be lovely to exist in a world where equal merit is given to the decision about what shoes to buy as to which television? Wouldn’t it be lovely to not have our consumer decision ridiculed as being girly shopping? As our earnings increase, so our consumer voice will.
And Sarah Vine also makes the good point as to why if chauffeurs are tax deductible is childcare not?

    >Damn- does that mean I have to keep working to be of any worth? Will my daughter, when she learns in history classes how working women changed the world, be slightly disappointed that I am no longer one of them?!!

    >Commendable sentiments but Im currently campaigning for more value to be put on being a domestic goddess!
I hate to say it, but I have also found that the worst bosses to have are women, they expect far more than men of you and can ten times nastier. But then I work in a presominantly male focussed field so im alright!

    >Gosh didn't mean it to be taken as working vs otherwise employed women but more that it was nice that women are changing the world by their actions for the better

Must be clearer in saying what I mean

    >For someone who works full-time in a very male-dominated industry, this makes a refreshing change!
